YOUR OPPORTUNITY

As a Permit Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in handling our client’s council approvals. You'll work closely with various stakeholders to ensure our client meets all regulatory requirements, ensuring a seamless process from planning to construction.

Your key accountabilities:

Pre-Site Administrative Tasks and Council Approval:

  • Manage pre-site administrative tasks and the council approval process.
  • Obtain necessary certificates for occupancy and completion.

Client Communication and Coordination:

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing updates and managing expectations.
  • Liaise with engineers, soil testers, and energy assessors during the permit process.
  • Navigate local council requirements, including responding to RFIs.

Project Management and Documentation:

  • Work closely with both internal teams and external consultants to ensure project success.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure attention to detail throughout the process, which typically takes 2 to 8 months.

Permit Management:

  • Apply for and manage permits before construction begins, ensuring compliance.
  • Handle the development application and secure building permits for houses, meeting specific requirements.
  • Oversee house completion to obtain occupancy permits for clients.
  • Manage completion permits for additional structures like sheds after house completion.

ABOUT YOU

You're a skilled coordinator well-versed in council legislation and permit approvals. A true professional with a sharp eye for detail, outstanding organisational skills, and adept negotiation skills.

To be successful, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience in the residential building sector with a deep understanding of council legislation.
  • Experience working with or within a council is highly regarded.
  • Solid understanding of building, renovation, and navigation of council approvals.
  • Familiarity with council audit processes and documentation requirements.
  • Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to effectively manage completing deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • A strong work ethic, maintaining a professional demeanor, and consistently upholding high standards.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding people skills with the ability to manage conflict and negotiation.
  • Proficiency in various IT applications and software systems such as: The list, Builder Trend, smart sheet, excel.
