Simone Calaby, a Client Liaison a Tasbuilt Homes

Tell us a bit about yourself

I'm from the charming country town of Ballarat, Victoria, where a beautiful lake sits at its heart. My incredible 23-year-old daughter still lives in Victoria, and I’m lucky to share life with an amazing partner. I’ve checked off a big bucket-list goal by completing Ironman races at 50, and for over 20 years, I’ve had the joy of singing in a band—music has always been a huge part of my life.

What do you enjoy the most about working at Tasbuilt?

It’s a family-run business that feels like home, and I treat it as part of the family. It’s also a high-end brand that I’m truly proud to be a part of.

What is the best and worst thing about being a Client Liaison?

As a Client Liaison, my role is incredibly diverse and detailed, with so many moving parts. It takes patience, adaptability, and a keen eye for detail. But the best part? Meeting wonderful clients and witnessing the joy on their faces when they see their dream home come to life—it’s truly rewarding.

If you were the CEO of Tasbuilt, what would your 5-year plan be?

Retirement. I’m the same age as the director, Michael, so it will be a race to the door to see who’s first for retirement.

What do you enjoy the most about working in the building industry?

It is such a challenging role, and very new to me. Each day is never the same, and it can be very challenging but fulfilling.

If you have multiple projects and limited time, how do you go about managing your priorities?

I just fly by the seat of my pants….

When you think of Tasbuilt, what is one word that comes to mind?

Superior—because "a cut above the rest"

And just for fun...

What would your dream home look like?

A stunning beachside retreat with warm, earthy tones that blend perfectly with the coastal surroundings—reflecting both the beauty of nature and the heart of who we are. A place where the sound of waves meets the comfort of home.

If you had a choice between two superpowers: being able to fly and being invisible, which one would you choose?

I’d choose flying—no traffic, no fuel costs, and best of all, I’d beat Michael to the front door of retirement and still have time to grab a coffee on the way!
