Gorgeous Table Decoration Ideas for Christmas

Why don’t you dazzle your guests with some of these table setting suggestions

GLAM GOLD

Go for a dramatic luxe feel with painted deep blue walls, layering up Deco inspired crockery in gleaming gold on the table. Gold rimmed flutes add understated elegance and a dome cake stand filled with a mix of decorative baubles makes the perfect centrepiece.

SMART STRIPES

Choose a tailored look with a navy ticking tablecloth and co-ordinated striped placemats. Add a pop of festive colour to simple white plates with scarlet napkins trimmed in a matching ticking tape. Traditional silver cutlery adds a timeless elegance and lengths of ivy bring a hint of the winter garden to the table.

WINTER GARDEN

Create a magical rustic winter wonderland by hanging branches wrapped in twinkling fairy lights and decorated with glass baubles over your table. Cosy sheepskin throws and cushions soften the wooden benches around a chunky trestle style table, a good idea if you're going to be seated for a while.

SHAKER STYLE

For an informal look, team a stitched runner in classic red and cream with heart patterned cutlery and napkins tied with a sprig of holly and a stick of warm scented cinnamon. Co-ordinated plates and glassware complete the setting.

FROSTED NATURE

Lay silver beaded placemats over a vintage white tablecloth and decorate with glittery stars and snowflakes for a fairytale scene. In the centre of the table, place pillar candles in pedestal hurricane lanterns and wrap with real ivy, placing on a mirrored charger to add to the festive sparkle. Decorate each place setting with a mini mercury bottle filled with seasonal foliage and keep the glassware, crockery and cutlery plain so the decorations are the star.

PRETTY VINTAGE

For a quick and easy decoration, lay a silky champagne gold runner down your table, placing a beaded placemat in the centre for a couple of glowing winter scene candleholders. Surround this with glitter encrusted berries and roses mixed with pale pink and muted gold baubles. A glass dome decoration adds an individual touch to each place setting and gold chargers and patterned glassware bring a touch of decadence.

BRIGHT TREATS

Update the traditional red, green and white scheme with a forest of mini fir trees down the centre of your table and bold coloured chunky tableware. Layer up coloured runners and tablemats and scatter with colourful jelly beans. Display individual guest names in bauble holders and place a brightly wrapped gift in each setting as an alternative to a cracker.
