Tasbuilt Commercial & Tasmanian Alkaloids

Tasbuilt Commercial recently completed a storage facility for Tasmanian Alkaloids, a manufacturer of controlled substances providing medicinal product from patented poppy varieties grown on the farms of Tasmania.

Tasmanian Alkaloids approached Tasbuilt Commercial in search of a fire proof storage facility, wanting the convenience of something built off site to minimise disruption to their production plant. This is a state of the art facility which is located in Westbury, only a kilometre from Tasbuilt Commercial's main manufacturing hub.

Tasmanian Alkaloids gave Tasbuilt Commercial an overview of what was required including custom design, the need for the unit to be fire proof to safely house important documents, completed within a short timeframe, and within budget.

Another important feature of the brief was customising the subfloor of the building to suit an exisitng footing system from a previous structure. Tasbuilt's team were able to design around this requirement and save the client the cost of additional footings.

The building was completely encased in a fireproof lining, before being clad with Colorbond cladding. It was delivered in the specified time-frame and within the specifed budget.
