West Tamar Highway at Lanena closed last night for House move

The West Tamar Highway was closed on Sunday 31st May from 10PM – 3AM for a Tasbuilt house move!

These Tasbuilt customers had a beautiful property in Lanena, 15 minutes from Launceston, with panoramic views of the Tamar Valley.  But it had one major problem when it came to building - the access was almost impossible. Even a small vehicle struggled to negotiate the steep drive.

A Tasbuilt prebuilt home proved to be the answer.  The home has been entirely constructed off site, meaning minimal construction activity will take place on site.

The Studland home was transported in 2 sections from the Tasbuilt site in Westbury to the West Tamar Highway near Lanena.  Once arriving on the highway the sections were craned off the trucks and craned over the embankment to the customer’s site at Rosevears Driver, Lanena.  Our production team, along with the team of truck and crane drivers braved the cold and by 3am they had the house together, almost ready to move in.

Over the next couple of weeks, our site team will work at the site completing the finishing touches. By the time the owners are ready to move in, the house will be fully complete right down to quality curtains, light fittings and floor coverings. The owners have had the privilege of enjoying the Unique Tasbuilt Experience!

This 3 bedroom home includes an open plan living with the kitchen in between the living & lounge and the master bedroom embraces a luxury en-suite and walk in robe.  A 1.8m wide timber deck wraps around the front of the home to take advantage of the stunning Tamar views.
